White PTFE Packing (Aramid Reinforced Corners)

White PTFE Packing (Aramid Reinforced Corners)

Core Features

  • Advanced Hybrid “Zebra” Braid: A high-performance composite packing featuring a pure White PTFE (Teflon™ style) core with all four corners reinforced with high-tenacity Yellow Aramid fibers.
  • Ultimate Anti-Extrusion Shield: The aramid corners act as a structural “fence.” This prevents the softer PTFE from “cold flowing” or extruding into the clearance gaps of the stuffing box, even under extreme hydraulic pressures.
  • Low-Friction Sealing Face: The pure white PTFE faces provide a chemically inert, low-friction interface that ensures smooth shaft rotation and prevents “stiction” in control valves.
  • Exceptional Dimensional Stability: Unlike pure PTFE packings that can flatten or lose their shape, the aramid reinforcement ensures the packing maintains a perfect square profile throughout its service life.
  • High-Pressure Capability: Engineered to handle significantly higher pressures than standard PTFE, making it suitable for reciprocating pumps and high-pressure valve manifolds.
  • Broad Chemical Resistance: Highly resistant to aggressive chemicals, solvents, oils, and mild acids (pH range 2–12). The white PTFE core ensures no color contamination in sensitive processes.

At Kriloha Ltd., we recognize that in high-pressure chemical handling, “Softness” must be protected by “Muscle.” Pure PTFE is the king of chemicals, but at high pressures, it behaves like a liquid and escapes the stuffing box. The Kriloha White PTFE/Aramid Corner Packing is our engineered answer for “Structural Chemical” sealing. As a premier global provider of industrial seals, Kriloha Gaskets has mastered the Multi-Track Hybrid Braid required to fuse these two distinct polymers into a single high-performance barrier.

The engineering of this hybrid is based on Geometric Reinforcement. By placing the Aramid Fiber exclusively on the corners, we provide the “Skeleton” required to resist extrusion. The White PTFE faces act as the “Skin,” providing a self-lubricating, non-contaminating interface. At Kriloha, we utilize a high-density PTFE yarn that is pre-treated with a specialized break-in lubricant to ensure the packing remains cool-running during the initial startup phase.

Manufacturing this packing at Kriloha involves strict Yarn-Tension Calibration. We ensure the Aramid and PTFE yarns are braided at the exact same tension to prevent “spiraling” or uneven loading in the stuffing box. Whether you are sealing a high-pressure dosing pump or a sensitive pharmaceutical mixer, Kriloha PTFE/Aramid Corner Packing provides the mechanical invincibility and chemical purity your facility demands. By choosing Kriloha Ltd., you are investing in a “High-Stamina” technology that reduces the need for frequent gland adjustments.

Primary Use Cases

  • Reciprocating Plunger Pumps: The premier choice for high-pressure water injection and chemical dosing pumps where pure PTFE would extrude.
  • Food & Pharmaceutical Processing: Providing a “Clean” seal for mixers and agitators where the non-contaminating properties of white PTFE are mandatory.
  • Chemical Process Valves: Ideal for automated control valves requiring low breakout torque and high-pressure containment.
  • Paper & Pulp Mills: Resisting the mechanical wear of stock lines while maintaining a chemically resistant seal.
  • General Industrial Maintenance: A “universal” packing for facilities that need a balance between the chemical resistance of PTFE and the mechanical strength of Aramid.

FAQs

Why use Aramid corners instead of a solid PTFE packing?

Solid PTFE “cold flows” (loses shape) under pressure. The Aramid corners act as a brace, keeping the PTFE in place and allowing the packing to handle 3 to 4 times more pressure than pure PTFE alone.

Is this packing “Food-Grade”?

The white PTFE core is non-contaminating. However, because of the yellow aramid corners, it is generally used in areas where the fluid is not for direct human consumption, unless a specific FDA-certified grade is requested from Kriloha.

Will the Aramid corners score my shaft?

Because the Aramid is only on the corners and the primary sealing face is soft PTFE, the risk of shaft scoring is much lower than with a solid Aramid packing. However, Kriloha still recommends a shaft hardness of at least 35 Rockwell C.

Can I use this for concentrated acids?

It has excellent resistance within the pH 2–12 range. For highly concentrated nitric or sulfuric acids (pH 0–1), the Aramid corners may degrade; in those cases, Kriloha recommends our Pure PTFE or Carbon Fiber packings.

How do I install this hybrid packing?

Cut the packing into individual rings using a sharp blade for a 45° miter joint. Stagger the joints by 90 degrees. During the “break-in,” maintain a steady leak-off to cool the Aramid fibers until the seal is seated.

Are you sealing a dynamic rotating pump or a static valve application?
