Injectable Packing (Sealant)

Injectable Packing (Sealant)

Core Features

  • Non-Slurry Fibrous Matrix: A specialized, high-viscosity compound composed of high-strength fibers (such as PTFE, Graphite, or Synthetic yarns) suspended in a thermally stable, chemically inert lubricant carrier.
  • Online Maintenance Capability: Unlike traditional braided rings, this packing can be “injected” into the stuffing box while the equipment is running. This eliminates the need for costly shutdowns to replace worn packing rings.
  • Zero-Leakage Technology: Designed to be tightened to a “virtual-zero” leak rate. The moldable nature of the sealant allows it to fill every microscopic void, pitted sleeve, or irregular groove that a solid braided ring would miss.
  • Low Friction & Energy Efficient: The high concentration of internal lubricants (PTFE and Graphite) creates a “hydraulic-like” seal that requires significantly less gland pressure, reducing power consumption and extending the life of the pump sleeve.
  • Universal Chemical Immunity: Available in various grades (White PTFE or Black Graphite) to provide total resistance to aggressive chemicals across the 0–14 pH range.
  • Wide Temperature Range: Maintains its putty-like consistency and sealing integrity from -40°C to +280°C, depending on the specific fiber base.

At Kriloha Ltd., we recognize that “Downtime” is the enemy of profitability. If you have to stop a production line just to fix a dripping pump, the packing is costing you more than its purchase price. The Kriloha Injectable Packing is our engineered answer for “Live-Maintenance” sealing. As a premier global provider of industrial seals, Kriloha Gaskets has mastered the Hybrid-Matrix technology required to create a sealant that acts like a solid under pressure but flows like a liquid during injection.

The engineering of our Injectable series is based on Volumetric Conformity. Traditional rings have a “joint” where leaks can start. Kriloha Injectable Packing has no joints; it forms a single, continuous, pressurized “plug” around the shaft. At Kriloha, we recommend using our Braided Anti-Extrusion Rings (Aramid or PTFE) at the bottom and top of the stuffing box to act as “bulkheads,” keeping the injectable sealant contained within the sealing zone.

Manufacturing this sealant at Kriloha involves strict Viscosity-Stabilization Testing. We ensure that the lubricant carrier won’t “squeeze out” or separate from the fibers under high hydraulic pressure. Whether you are sealing a vibrating slurry mixer or a high-speed chemical transfer pump, Kriloha Injectable Packing provides the mechanical invincibility and maintenance flexibility your facility demands. By choosing Kriloha Ltd., you are investing in a “Zero-Shutdown” technology that keeps your plant running while others are stopped for repairs.

Primary Use Cases

  • Worn or Pitted Shaft Sleeves: The premier choice for older pumps where standard braided packing fails due to surface irregularities on the hardware.
  • Continuous Process Pumps: Ideal for mining, paper mills, and power plants where stopping a pump for a repack would cost thousands in lost production.
  • Large Diameter Agitators: Sealing large mixers where shaft “run-out” or vibration makes it impossible for a rigid braided ring to maintain a seal.
  • Condensate & Effluent Pumps: Providing a clean, leak-free seal for water treatment and steam recovery systems.
  • Valve Stem Sealing: Used as a high-performance sealant for large-diameter valves in chemical tank farms.

FAQs

Do I need a special tool to install this?

Yes. You typically need a High-Pressure Injection Gun that threads into a port on the stuffing box. This allows you to pump the sealant into the cavity while the shaft is rotating.

Can I use this without braided rings?

Kriloha strongly recommends using one ring of braided packing (Header Rings) at each end of the stuffing box. This prevents the injectable sealant from extruding out of the clearances and into the pump or out of the gland.

Will it wash away in high-pressure water?

No. The fibrous matrix is designed to interlock and resist “wash-out.” However, if the clearances are too large, the header rings are essential for containment.

Is it compatible with food products?

We offer a White PTFE Food-Grade version that is FDA compliant and non-contaminating, perfect for sugar refineries and juice processing.

How do I know when to inject more?

When you notice the leak rate starting to increase beyond your desired level, simply hook up the injection gun and add a small amount of sealant to re-energize the “plug.”
