Pure PTFE Packing

Pure PTFE Packing

Core Features

  • 100% Virgin PTFE Resin: Braided from high-purity Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) yarns. This material is completely free from additives, fillers, or lubricants that could leach into and contaminate sensitive process media.
  • Near-Universal Chemical Inertness: Provides a robust seal against almost all industrial chemicals, including concentrated acids, strong alkalis, and aggressive solvents. It remains stable across the full 0–14 pH range (excluding molten alkali metals and elemental fluorine).
  • Ultra-Clean & Non-Contaminating: The stark white color is a hallmark of its purity. It is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic, making it the industry standard for pharmaceutical and food-grade applications where “Zero-Contamination” is a safety mandate.
  • Superior Anti-Stick Properties: PTFE has one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid material. This ensures low breakout torque for valves and prevents the packing from “bonding” to stems or shafts over time.
  • High Temperature & Pressure Resilience: Maintains physical integrity from cryogenic temperatures up to +260°C (+500°F).
  • FDA & Global Compliance: Manufactured to meet strict international standards, including FDA 21 CFR 177.1550, ensuring it is safe for direct contact with consumable products.

At Kriloha Ltd., we recognize that in the “High-Purity” sector, there is no room for compromise. A single microscopic particle of carbon or oil can compromise an entire production run of medicine or food. The Kriloha Pure PTFE Packing is our engineered answer for “Aseptic Containment.” As a premier global provider of industrial seals, Kriloha Gaskets has perfected the Dense-Plait Braiding technology required to turn virgin PTFE into a high-density, leak-proof barrier.

The engineering of our Pure PTFE series is based on Molecular Permanence. Unlike synthetic fiber packings that rely on external coatings, the lubricity of Kriloha PTFE is an inherent property of the fiber itself. At Kriloha, we utilize a “Dry-Lube” braiding process, ensuring the packing is clean to the touch and ready for immediate installation in high-purity environments. The tight square interlock ensures that the packing does not “shred” or lint, even under the mechanical stress of a rotating shaft.

Manufacturing this packing at Kriloha involves strict Dedicated Clean-Room Braiding. We ensure these white yarns never come into contact with the machinery used for graphite or aramid products. Whether you are sealing a high-speed chemical mixer or a sensitive food-grade valve, Kriloha Pure PTFE Packing provides the chemical invincibility and mechanical purity your facility demands. By choosing Kriloha Ltd., you are investing in a “Clean-Seal” technology that protects your brand and your process integrity.

Primary Use Cases

  • Pharmaceutical Agitators & Mixers: Providing a sterile-compatible seal that resists aggressive CIP (Clean-In-Place) chemicals.
  • Food & Beverage Centrifugal Pumps: Handling syrups, dairy, and acidic juices where maintaining product purity is critical.
  • High-Purity Chemical Valves: Sealing valve stems in fine chemical production where graphite or carbon particles would ruin the batch.
  • Oxygen Service: Because it is inorganic and non-combustible, pure PTFE is frequently used in oxygen-enriched environments (when properly cleaned).
  • Glass-Lined Reactors: The soft, conformable nature of the braid allows it to seal against fragile glass surfaces without requiring excessive mechanical force.

FAQs

Can I use Pure PTFE for high-speed centrifugal pumps?

Pure PTFE is a poor heat conductor. For very high-speed pumps (surface speeds over 8 m/s), heat can build up and cause the packing to expand and “seize.” For those applications, Kriloha recommends our PTFE-Graphite (GFO) series or ensuring a high-volume cooling flush.

Does Pure PTFE “Cold Flow” or Extrude?

While PTFE resin can flow under pressure, our Braided Construction significantly reduces this tendency compared to solid PTFE gaskets. The interlocking yarns provide a mechanical structure that holds its shape under standard gland loads.

Is this packing safe for drinking water?

Yes. It is chemically inert and does not leach any substances into the water, making it excellent for municipal and industrial water treatment valves.

What is the difference between this and “PTFE Filament” packing?

“Pure PTFE” often refers to the resin type and purity, while “Filament” refers specifically to the use of continuous long fibers. Kriloha Pure PTFE is usually supplied in a Filament form for maximum strength and minimum linting.

How do I install Pure PTFE Packing?

Cut the packing into rings with a 45° miter joint. Stagger the joints by 90°. Tighten the gland nuts finger-tight initially, then adjust slowly as the equipment reaches operating temperature to allow for the thermal expansion of the PTFE.
